Email Deliverability Guide
How to Get Emails to the Inbox
Inbox placement is not controlled by one setting. Gmail looks at a combination of sender identity, reputation, recipient engagement, message quality and sending behavior. A strong program keeps those signals consistent over time instead of trying to fix delivery only after a campaign starts going to spam.
Start with people who expect your email
Send to people who knowingly signed up, purchased from you, created an account or otherwise asked to hear from you. Avoid old, scraped or purchased lists.
Keep the From identity stable
Use a recognizable From name and a sending domain that matches your brand. Frequent changes can make legitimate mail look unfamiliar.
Authenticate every sending domain
SPF, DKIM and DMARC help mailbox providers verify that a message is connected to the domain shown to recipients.
Watch engagement and complaints
Make the purpose of the message clear, use an honest subject line, and provide a visible unsubscribe option for marketing mail.
Test before increasing volume
Use InboxCan to compare the same test message across connected Gmail seed inboxes. Look for repeated patterns instead of relying on one result.
A simple pre-send checklist
- Use a permission-based, recently engaged audience.
- Confirm SPF and DKIM pass.
- Publish and monitor DMARC.
- Keep From identity recognizable.
- Avoid sudden sending-volume jumps.
- Test placement after meaningful changes.
InboxCan shows placement in the Gmail accounts connected to this site. It is a testing signal, not a guarantee of placement for every recipient.
