Email Deliverability Guide

How to Avoid the Gmail Spam Folder

A message can be technically valid and still land in Spam. Gmail evaluates the sender, domain, recipient relationship and message together. When placement drops, isolate what changed instead of searching for one magic setting.

Check authentication first

Confirm that SPF and DKIM are passing and that the domains align with the identity used in the message. Review DMARC as well.

Look at the audience

High bounce rates, old contacts and recipients who never interact with your mail can damage reputation. Remove invalid addresses and avoid purchased data.

Avoid sudden sending spikes

Increase volume in a controlled way, especially on a new domain or sending platform.

Keep the message honest and readable

Use a subject line that matches the content, identify the sender clearly and provide a straightforward unsubscribe option.

Use repeated tests

Change one factor at a time and compare placement patterns across your seed inboxes.

InboxCan shows placement in the Gmail accounts connected to this site. It is a testing signal, not a guarantee of placement for every recipient.
